《Business Insider》報導，Facebook (FB-US) 宣布未來將讓用戶加密個人資訊，提醒信件也將改採加密格式寄送，保障用戶隱私。

Facebook 用戶未來將有公開金鑰與私密金鑰，公開金鑰可自由發佈。如有使用者想發送給某人加密訊息，只須用對方的公開金鑰加密，對方收到後再用本身的私密金鑰解密。

包括蘋果 (AAPL-US)、Facebook 在內的科技業者均採用新技術保障用戶資料不外洩。蘋果執行長庫克就曾表示他們從來沒有和任何政府單位合作在產品中建立「後門」方便辦案，未來也絕對不會這麼做。

自艾德華史諾頓公開美國政府大規模監控民眾通訊以來，各大科技業者便不斷推出新技術加強保護用戶資訊。加密可以確保用戶重要資訊不會外流，但有官員批評這對國家安全造成威脅，因為執法當局就算有搜索票取得罪犯資料也無法解密。
