美國前總統卡特反對攻敘

華爾街日報報導，美國前總統卡特30日發表聲明說，世界領袖應利用目前全球對化學武器攻擊事件的憤怒，尋求舉行敘利亞和談會議，而非發動軍事攻擊。卡特說，少了聯合國安理會背書或北大西洋公約組織支持的懲罰性軍事行動，按國際法是非法的，且不太可能改變（敘利亞）戰爭的方向；而一場攻擊將推遲「目前急需的政治程序」，結束為期兩年半的敘利亞內戰。
