到國外最常被老外的一個問題是：Where are you from?

你相信嗎，這麼基礎的英文，竟然有高達99%的人，要嘛問錯、要嘛答錯，或者答了等於沒有答。

1、Where are you from?／Where are you coming from?

Jack等一個國外的客戶來開會，他看客戶遲到匆匆忙忙進來。關心一下他剛才去哪裡。於是問了一句：Where are you from? 老外愣了一下，回答：I'm from the UK.

其實，老外心中應該正在碎念：Jack應該知道我是英國人啊！

Where are you from? 是問人哪一國人、或是哪一個地方的人。不是問別人剛剛從哪裡來。問人剛剛從哪裡來，正確的用法是：Where are you coming from? 過海關時，海關人員最常問的就是這句話：「你從哪裡飛來的。」

2、Where are you come from?（X）

別看這句文法那麼簡單，錯誤率卻很高。碰到外國人，很多人會不假思索地說出 Where are you come from? 一個句子出現兩個動詞，文法錯誤。

你可以去掉be動詞，用Where do you come from? 也可以用Where are you from?
