被譽為「台灣史上最傑出音樂家」的蕭泰然24日病逝，享壽77歲。民進黨主席蔡英文今（25）日在臉書po文，對這位台灣的音樂泰斗溘然長逝表達哀悼。

蔡英文表示，聽聞創作出《台灣翠青》、《玉山頌》等作品的蕭泰然老師，已經辭世遠去，但是他的音樂將會繼續被聽見，成為台灣共同的資產。

蔡英文說，因為蕭泰然老師，我們有許多民間的旋律，可以以普世所熟悉的方式流傳各地，台灣在民族的音樂地圖中也終究沒有缺席。願大師安息。
