美國一名坐輪椅的下半身癱瘓男子，29日在佛羅里達州中部一家汽車代理商店公然搶車開走，引起警方追逐，稍後被捕。

警方說，貝提斯假裝要買車，把輪椅推到他看中的一輛白色龐提亞克新車旁邊，請推銷員協助他坐上車子感受裡面的配備。

他坐上駕駛座後，卻把車門鎖上，轉動鑰匙發動引擎，用折起來的拐杖抵著油門疾馳而去。

警車接報展開追逐，可是一直追不上，追到幾哩外才趁著貝提斯進加油站加油把他逮到。
