雖然近幾年超級跑車市場相當熱絡，但進入到這個領域後仍有價格高低與定位功能性之分，因此甫於2015年上海車展發表的McLaren 540C，就是針對層峰但非重度熱血買家所打造的入門超跑，當然基於產能的關係，台灣最快要等到2016年中之後才有辦法交車。
