美國國會議員與州長期中選舉，決定勝負的關鍵人物是歐巴馬! 選舉起跑這幾周，他大多時候不見人影，繼1日終於露面後，2日在他的低民調支持率對民主黨候選人比較不構成負擔，以及民主黨候選沒有選擇和他保持距離的選區站台，首站到康乃狄克州，次站要到賓州。距4日投票只48小時，共和黨2日集中火力瞄準歐巴馬。共和黨2012年總統候選人羅姆尼說，「這真的是美國評判歐巴馬政府及其政策的最後機會」，所有共和黨都主打這個信息，要選民為歐巴馬打分數。民主黨出動所有頂尖要角，在各地為歐巴馬辯護。
