郭李建夫去年帶領中華隊參加21U世界棒球賽贏得冠軍，帶隊風格獲得好評，棒協確定世大運棒球賽以及亞錦賽再讓郭李續任中華隊總教練，期待他再創佳績。

值得一提的是，21U世界盃中華棒協另聘請外籍教練克魯茲（Cirilo Cruz Dilan）擔任打擊教練，選手打擊果然不同凡響，郭李建夫透露，世大運有計劃再邀請他擔任客座教練。

克魯茲原在爆米花聯盟擔任崇越隼鷹客座教練，幫助崇越火力有效提升，並拿下總冠軍，棒協借重他的豐富執教經驗，邀請他擔任21U世界盃的打擊教練，郭李建夫指出，一對一的教學，確實提升選手的打擊能力。

世大運教練團名單，維持去年21U世界盃班底，不過林宗毅取代邱敏舜，郭李建夫表示，大會規定教練必須在大學執教，在業餘帶隊的邱敏舜不符規定，改由在台體任教的林宗毅入替，亞錦賽則沒有相關規定，教練團與去年21U世界盃相同。

至於選手名單是否以21U世界盃為班底，郭李建夫表示，基本上是如此，不過要看球員狀況，另外3月將開打的甲組成棒春季聯賽，球員表現也會是選訓依據。
