憑藉著輕量化、耐酸抗鏽與結構強度優異的特性，近年來車界在鋁合金的使用上可說是跳脫了性能跑車的範疇，包含某些需要高承載量的Pickup、SUV野都紛紛投向鋁合金結構材的懷抱，而根據達科市場諮詢公司（Ducker Worldwide）的研究報告指出，未來有關於該材質的運用將會大幅提升，而在Pickup領域裡，2025年時更將達到7成以上的比例。
