（中央社華盛頓27日綜合外電報導）美國國防部今天說，由西非返回的美軍現正在義大利1座基地接受隔離，以防伊波拉病毒傳播。

國防部發言人華倫（Steven Warren）上校說：「出於高度謹慎，軍方指示這些為數不多、大約12名最近返回義大利的人員，在維成薩（Vicenza）基地內的分離地點接受檢測。」

但華倫又說：「這些人無一出現接觸過病毒的症狀。」

他說，25日卸任美國駐賴比瑞亞軍事代表團團長的威廉斯（Darryl Williams）少將，與11名團員奉命前往上述義大利基地內的1個分離地點接受醫療團隊檢測。這個代表團在賴比瑞亞是為協助對抗伊波拉疫情。

華倫並說，相關決定是由美國陸軍作出。(中央社)
